Dr. Yvonne Chirimuta

Dr. Yvonne Chirimuta is a dentist with over 23 years’ experience. She is registered with the Bermuda Health Council. Dr Chirimuta obtained her qualification in Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of the Western Cape, South Africa. She holds an associateship with the International Dental Implant Association and International Association of Orthodontics with active membership. She is a member of the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) and Christian Dental Society.

Her experience as a general dentist, including 12 plus years of Public Health dentistry involves an approach that advocates oral health as part of a medical conglomerate with the mouth being a gateway to systemic health.

Dr Chirimuta provides oral health education, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases, involving provision of comprehensive treatment including basic restorative, root canal therapy, functional orthodontics for both children and adults, crown and bridge, surgical extraction of wisdom teeth, implants and Platelet Resin Plasma (PRP/PRF), treatment of mild to moderate sleep apnea and TMD (Temporomandibular Disorders) with dental appliances. Use of oral and Nitrous Oxide sedation in office for the nervous patient. Holds Hospital Privileges with the Bermuda Hospital Board enabling her to treat patients under General Anesthesia at KEMH VII, especially children and special needs patients.

Her patients include children, seniors, special needs, and the general adult population. Dr. Chirimuta has a passion for educating people about the benefits of good oral health and worked with the community, schools, and various organizations. She has been nominated for the Bermuda Ministry of Health Chief Medical `s Officer Award and awarded a Certificate.

Dr Chirimuta has a passion for mission dentistry, and she has volunteered in Haiti and locally providing dental care for the underprivileged.

Outside of Dentistry Dr Chirimuta enjoys several activities including attending church, reading, art and mentoring.

Dental mission work is one of her passions and she has traveled to Haiti on several occasions offering voluntary dental services.
